I met Mrs. Tsang-Wright (Fiona) alongside my mum, who was meeting her for breast surgery. In total, we met Fiona pre-operation, on the day of her operation, and post-op. Mrs. Tsang-Wright is currently a Consultant in Wycombe Hospital (not a registrar as her profile suggests).
I am well aware of the GMC requirements for providing Good Medical Care, and feel that Fiona meets these requirements and beyond. Honestly, I would say that Fiona provided EXCEPTIONAL care. My mum was absolutely terrified, but Fiona has excellent communication skills and bucket loads of empathy. She made my mum feel very comfortable, she had a lovely bedside manner and she explained everything very well using easy to understand, non-jargon filled language.
I know that clinics are always busy, but Mrs. Tsang-Wright made us feel like she had all the time in the world, was happy to answer any question no matter what it was, and went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. My mum has an excellent prognosis, but this did not reduce Fiona's time for her, and Fiona did not just provide this excellent care for my mum, she did it for me as well, and that was greatly appreciated. I cannot put a value on all of that. We immediately felt at ease, comfortable and that we could trust her absolutely.
On the day of surgery she was calm, confident and competent, and the surgery itself went very smoothly. Mrs. Tsang-Wright went out of her way to communicate with me both before and after my mum's surgery and I was so grateful for that. It was genuinely beyond what I was expecting (and I have high expectations), and I was very impressed.
We recently had the post-op appointment. My mum has healed very nicely and is now being referred on as appropriate. Fiona was able to give my mum all the information she now needs to be empowered to make her own decisions about her ongoing care.
Thank you for being so considerate, it made a difficult experience that much more tolerable. The stereotype of surgeons, unfortunately, is that it is okay if they do not have good communication skills so long as they're good surgeons, but you have great communication skills and are a great surgeon. Thank you.

I appreciate the Doctor’s straight forward, pragmatic, say it as it is approach, which gave me confidence and made me feel as comfortable and relaxed as I could be facing breast surgery.
She has a very approachable manner and treated me as a fellow human being and explained everything that was going to happen, could happen, may happen.
I really appreciate having her look after me both before, during and following the surgery.

I have seen Fiona before regarding my breast cancer treatment and follow up. She always shows great empathy and understanding of any problems l am experiencing and always makes me feel fully cared for and safe. In this instance she has arranged a further test and follow up appointment which makes me feel very reassured. I also know that she will personally aim to contact me with the results. Thanks again Fiona.

Fiona is a Consultant Breast and Reconstructive surgeon at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust as well as in senior management as the Trust Cancer Clinical Lead. She is a committee member for the Association of Breast Surgery.
She has an expertise in managing breast diseases and breast cancer. All her clinics are set up with the best patient experience in mind: she will examine the patient and then arrange for imaging to be done at the same appointment (One-Stop Clinic) as she believes that this enables her to reassure her patients as quickly as possible, and reduce the anxiety of waiting for tests. Her feedback is positive and she is proud that she can make the experience of attending her clinic as pleasant and straight-forward as possible.
Fiona is involved in all aspects of a patient's treatment, and particularly in the management of breast cancer in younger women. She uses refined oncoplastic techniques to give women the increased possibility of conserving their natural breast or for those needing a mastectomy, she is an expert in immediate breast reconstructions using an implant to create a natural breast shape. She also liaises closely with consultant plastic surgeons for autologous reconstructions such as DIEP / LD.
Fiona has worked in different healthcare systems around the world and uses the experience gained in Singapore, Hong Kong and Dubai for the management of her patients in the UK. She has a demonstrable record in medical management at national, regional and local levels.
Fiona is dedicated to medical education and mentorship. She sits on the Oxford Regional Higher Surgery Training panel, is a final year examiner at the University of Oxford, an Associate Professor at the St George's University in Grenada, and teaches students from Oxford University and the University of Buckingham.
